What is recorded here

In rough hill pasture, on an E-facing slope, commanding extensive views over Kenmare Bay and valley of the Dromoghty River and within a network of relict field boundaries (KE101-015001-). This standing stone (1.25m x 0.28m; H 1.15m), set in bog (D 0.3m), is subrectangular in plan and section and is orientated NE-SW. Probably dating to the Bronze Age, this standing stone may have had ritual or territorial significance, possibly aligning with landscape features or ancient pathways. Local folklore sometimes associates such stones with protective spirits or markers of ancient boundaries.
