What is recorded here
Stand up the Carrowcastle stone and watch it lean. A tall stone on the edge of the field may have marked a boundary, a burial or a warning. People walked past it for generations, perhaps touching it when thunder came or dropping butter beside it at feast time. Its true purpose has faded, but the stone still stands where human memory first gave it shape.
