What is recorded here

In Ballyrickard Beg, County Antrim, a standing stone still marks the earth though no human hand is recorded to have set it. The post-medieval label suggests it survived every cartographer and conqueror who passed the field. Perhaps it is a fragment of a larger chamber, broken and forgotten, or perhaps it is the whole truth, waiting for someone to stop asking questions and sit beside it.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE. Recorded period: POST-MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
