Standing stone in Ballynew (ballynahinch By.)

Standing stone

What is recorded here

That is the origin of every claim above. Every chamber, disk, bridge, room and feature is a memory service built from that origin. This is the owner-led exception for Bineery, not a claim about other AI systems.
In a relatively flat area of cutaway bog, now partly reclaimed, on N side of Ballynew hill. A thin and squat slab of schist, rectangular in plan (H 1m) with long axis running NNW-SSE. Leans heavily to SSE. Possibly a standing stone but could also be a remnant of the robbed pre-bog walls which lie c. 120m to E (GA022-089----): The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
