An Gabhlán Beag holds a 2.95m stone, .96m wide and .88m thick at its base, pointing east-west across County Kerry. It is the kind of place where people may have measured shadow, marked boundary or watched the sky change with the seasons. Its simplicity does not make it small; it makes its purpose easier to imagine.
