Standing Stone

Cavancarragh holds standing stone alignments and a possible megalithic tomb, yet no human date, purpose or owner is recorded. Stones may have marked a road, a boundary, a funeral or a prayer, but the alignment itself refuses that choice. In County Fermanagh, where so many places are named for giants, graves and raths, this is the rare one that gives back a question instead of an answer.
