St Winefride's Holy Well is associated with St Winefride, a 7th-century Welsh saint known for her martyrdom and miraculous healing waters. The well is traditionally believed to have curative properties, particularly for eye ailments, and is linked to a legend in which the saint's head, after being severed, is said to have bled and restored her body, causing the spring to flow.
