St. Trostans Well, Lower Westerdale

St. Trostans Well is associated with St. Trostan, a 6th-century Irish monk and one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland, who is said to have founded a monastery in Galloway. The well was traditionally visited for its healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and was likely a site of pilgrimage and seasonal rituals.
