St Senans Well in County Clare, Ireland is a holy well where clean water still rises from the earth. It is the kind of place people have visited for centuries, perhaps to drink, wash or pray when life felt heavy. The name suggests an old Christian memory, but the well itself may be older than any church or road. Stand beside it at dawn and it is easy to believe the water has been waiting for human company since before written history began.

St. Senan was a 6th-century Irish monk and bishop, traditionally associated with the founding of several monastic sites in Munster, including Scattery Island and Kinvara. The well is linked to local traditions of healing and pilgrimage, with devotees often leaving offerings such as coins or ribbons as part of votive practices.
