St. Rynaghs Well is associated with Saint Rynagh, a 7th-century Irish saint and abbess, who is said to have founded a convent in County Westmeath. The well was traditionally visited for its healing properties, particularly for curing eye ailments and ensuring safe childbirth, with associated rituals often involving the collection of water on specific feast days.
