St Peter's Well is associated with St Peter, the apostle, and like many holy wells in Scotland, it was historically linked to healing rituals and Christian devotion. Local tradition suggests the well may have been a site of pilgrimage, with water used for curing ailments or as a source of spiritual blessing.
