St Patrick's Well is associated with St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, and like many wells named after him, it was traditionally believed to have healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and general health. Holy wells dedicated to St Patrick were often sites of pilgrimage and seasonal rituals, especially on his feast day, 17 March.
