'st Oyne's Well', St Oyne's Hill

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records 'st Oyne's Well', St Oyne's Hill as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Oyne's Well is associated with Saint Oyne, a 7th-century Irish monk and missionary believed to have been active in northern Scotland. The well was traditionally visited for healing purposes, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and was likely a site of pilgrimage and local Christian devotion.
