St. Kennys Well is associated with Saint Kenny, a 7th-century Irish saint known for his monastic foundation in County Kilkenny, though his cult was venerated more widely. Holy wells dedicated to him were often linked to cures for skin ailments and general healing, with traditions of leaving coins or making offerings at the site.
