St Kain's Well, Dunskey Glen

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Kain's Well, Dunskey Glen as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Kain's Well is associated with St Kain, a lesser-known early Scottish saint, and is traditionally linked to healing rituals, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin. Local folklore suggests that the well was once a site of pilgrimage, with visitors collecting water on specific holy days for its curative properties.
