St James's Well, Garvock

St James's Well, Garvock, is associated with St James the Greater, one of the apostles of Jesus, who is venerated in Scottish tradition. Holy wells dedicated to St James were often visited for healing, particularly for ailments of the eyes and general health, and were commonly used in pilgrimage practices.
