St Fumac's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Fumac's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Fumac's Well is associated with St Fumac, a 7th-century Irish monk and missionary linked to the spread of Christianity in northern Britain. The well was traditionally visited for healing purposes, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and may have been a site of pilgrimage during the medieval period.
