St Connell’s Well is traditionally associated with Saint Connell, an early Irish Christian saint believed to have lived in the 6th or 7th century, and is linked to a number of holy sites across Ireland. The well was likely used for ritual healing and pilgrimage, with devotees seeking cures for ailments and making offerings as part of local folklore and devotional practices.
