St Colman's Well is associated with St Colman, a 7th-century Irish monk and bishop who founded a monastery in Tain, Ross and Cromarty. The well was traditionally visited for its healing properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and was a site of pilgrimage and local Christian devotion.
