St. Caillins Chapel (in ruins)

On E side of this island which is part of the Slyne Head archipelago. Small, well-preserved E. Chr. oratory (WSW-ESE; L 7.2m, Wth 4.75m ext.), its orientation dictated by the natural hollow in which it stands. Two projecting corbels survive at E and W ends of N side-wall. There is a trabeate doorway in W gable and a flat-headed window in E; also an altar and aumbry at E end. A holy well (GA048-003002-) lies c. 20m to ENE.
