St. Bryde's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St. Bryde's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St. Bryde's Well is associated with St. Bridget (Bryde), a 6th-century Irish saint linked to several holy sites in Britain and Ireland, and is traditionally believed to offer healing properties, particularly for women's ailments and fertility. The well's medieval origins reflect the widespread Celtic Christian tradition of venerating saints and natural springs as places of spiritual and physical healing.
