St Boniface's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Boniface's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Boniface's Well is associated with St Boniface, an 8th-century Anglo-Saxon missionary known as the "Apostle of the Germans," though his connection to the site is more legendary than historically documented. The well may have been venerated for its healing properties, as was common with many holy wells linked to saints.
