St. Bees Lighthouse, located on the Cumbrian coast, was built in 1788 and is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses on the English mainland. It was designed by Thomas Smith, a prominent lighthouse engineer, and remains important as a key navigational aid and a symbol of maritime history in the region.
