Spynie Palace Cottage

Cottage (period Unassigned), Shell Midden(s) (period Unassigned), Unidentified Flint(s) (flint)(period Unassigned)

What is recorded here

Spynie Palace Cottage stands in Moray beside shell middens and scattered flint, a small human mark beside a much larger palace shadow. The cottage may have housed a keeper, a tenant or a worker for the palace estate, but no surviving fact names the person or dates the rooms. The shells and flint suggest people ate, struck tools and discarded what they no longer needed, while the cottage shape suggests they also stayed when the weather turned.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Spynie Palace Cottage as Cottage (period Unassigned), Shell Midden(s) (period Unassigned), Unidentified Flint(s) (flint)(period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
