Soutra Hill

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Soutra Hill as Cup and Ring Marked Stone (neolithic) - (bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Soutra Hill in the Borders region of Scotland is associated with Saint Fillan, a 7th-century Irish monk and healer, and is traditionally linked to a holy well and pilgrimage site. The hill's name may derive from the Gaelic "An t-Suidhealach," meaning "the place of sitting," possibly referring to a site of prayer or ritual, though its primary recorded features are the Neolithic and Bronze Age Cup and Ring Marked Stone.
