Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records South Ronaldsay, the Nev as Chambered Cairn (neolithic). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic chambered cairn; dates to the earlier part of the Neolithic period in Orkney, around 3500–2500 BCE. It is significant as part of a broader network of ceremonial and funerary monuments reflecting early communal burial practices in northern Scotland.
