What is recorded here

Halcro stands on South Ronaldsay as a medieval castle, its stones still catching Orkney wind long after the builders left. It may have been a home, a guard post, or a small proud claim to land, but the absence of a clear chamber description keeps it slightly withheld. What is certain is that it belongs to Scotland's historic environment and still occupies the island's memory.
