South Castle Wood hides medieval rig and furrow fields beneath its trees, marking land farmed long before the forest closed over it. The wood stands in Perth and Kinross, preserving agricultural lines from the medieval and post Medieval periods. People may have walked those hidden ridges, read rainwater in the soil, and tended crops now lost to time. The wood still holds that forgotten shape, waiting for someone to notice the old hands beneath the roots.
