Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Sms V70: Gutter Sound, Scapa Flow, Orkney as Destroyer (20th Century)-(1919). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

SMS V70 was a German WWI destroyer scuttled in Scapa Flow in 1919 after the Armistice, part of the interned High Seas Fleet. It was lost intentionally during the scuttling event, with no reported casualties, and represents the post-war disposal of the German navy.
