SMS Brummer was a German light cruiser sunk by the British Royal Navy in the North Sea on 28 August 1915 during World War I; it was scuttled by its crew after being damaged in a naval engagement near the Dogger Bank, with no loss of life but carrying a significant amount of artillery and ammunition; it later became a target for salvage and is now a known wreck site of historical and archaeological interest.
