Wrought-iron carriage gates and ashlar piers still frame the entrance, guarding a crowded ledger of nineteenth-century prestige where local families competed in stone and iron craftsmanship. The slope creates a quiet hierarchy of memory, with the wealthy buried higher and the humble lower, while the gate lodge watches the road like a stubborn sentinel.
