What is recorded here

Castle Crag in Cumberland still holds a slight univallate hillfort, a low ridge of earth and stone that once watched the valley below. The shape is small enough to miss unless the wind strips the grass back, yet it remains a scheduled monument because human hands built it and time has not erased it. Listing does not invite entry, so the crag keeps its distance. Approach only where the land is open, and leave the ridge untouched.
