Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Skye, Kilbride, Tobar Na H-annait as Holy Well (medieval), Millstone (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Tobar Na H-annait is associated with Saint Bridget (Brigid), a widely venerated early Christian saint in Scotland and Ireland, often linked to healing and fertility. The well's name, meaning "Well of the Cows," may reflect a tradition of animal blessing or healing, common at many wells dedicated to Saint Bridget.
