Headland

What is recorded here

Sìthean Bhuirgh is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature located in the Outer Hebrides, composed primarily of Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rocks in Scotland, dating back over 2700 million years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through high-pressure and high-temperature processes and are notable for their durability and role in the region's ancient geological history.
