Battle between colliers and Shropshire Yeomanry staged in 1821
Colliers (coal miners) from the Cinderloo area in Shropshire fought against the Shropshire Yeomanry in 1821. The conflict arose from disputes over wages and working conditions, and the outcome saw the miners defeated, highlighting the growing tensions between industrial workers and authorities during the early 19th century.
