This brass commemorative plaque records: On this track the LNER Streamline Pacific locomotive Sir Ralph Wedgwood was destroyed during an air raid on the night of 28/29 April 1942 nearby class B16 No. 925 was also destroyed. This plaque was placed in remembrance by the Gresley Society on the fiftieth anniversary 29 April 1992
