What is recorded here

Enniskillen castle stood on the southern tip of Lough Erne in February 1594, held by Hugh Maguire against English forces. The siege revealed how rowed boats and scaling ladders still shaped warfare in northern Ireland, while mobile shields and entrenched artillery showed the reach of modern gunpower. Hugh O’Neill watched from the edge, directing resistance through others while preserving his own hands. The castle became a test stone for the larger war that would consume Ulster.
Siege of Enniskillen is a siege in County Fermanagh, Ireland.
