Within the Ceathrú An Lisín graveyard in County Galway, a flat triangular stone with a circular hole near its base remains the end marker of a lost shrine. The hole allowed pilgrims to touch relics or sacred earth, probably the bones of the nearby church founder. The shrine is gone except for this stone, but the act of touching through the hole still lives in the shape of the opening.

Within a graveyard (GA119-087002-). A flat triangular-shaped holed stone (L 1.53m; max. Wth 0.97m; T 0.1m) indicates the former presence of a slab shrine or monumental reliquary here. This stone is one of the end stones of the structure. The shrine probably held the bones of the of the founder of the nearby church (GA119-087001-). The circular hole near its base would have allowed pilgrims touch the relics or sacred earth within (Waddell 1996, 118, 129).
