Shorn Cliff is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340–320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. It is notable for its exposure of ancient rock layers, which contribute to the geological understanding of the Forest of Dean area.
