Sherrifmuir (1715) is shown as a battlefield on the public map of Stirling. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
Jacobite forces under the Earl of Mar fought government troops led by Viscount Dundee near Sherriffmuir, Perth and Kinross, on 13 November 1715. The battle ended in a tactical draw but marked the end of the first Jacobite rising, as the rebellion failed to gain significant support and was eventually suppressed.
