What is recorded here
This small, rectangular structure is marked ‘Sheepfold’ on the second edition of the OS map. It abuts the external face of the enclosing elements at NNW of enclosure (KE080-046001-), breaking its circuit at this point. Measuring 2.3m E-W x 1.5m N-S internally, its walls are built in random horizontal courses. Henry noted an entrance in its external side-wall (1957, 77), but this is no longer apparent.
The above description is derived from O'Sullivan, A. and Sheehan, J. (compilers) 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University press. (1996), no. 959. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
