Seventeenth-century walls and outbuildings still mark the ground in Magherana, County Down. A family or tenant may have cooked, argued and buried secrets inside those rooms before the land changed hands or forgot them. The house did not need a famous name to feed people or witness local life. It stands as a settled place where ordinary days became history through repetition.
