What is recorded here
Kilkenny still holds a deserted medieval settlement, though its exact life has faded from local memory. The region was dense enough to justify a dedicated settlement, yet the site resisted permanent occupation or was abandoned before modern records began. Its absence is not empty; it is a shape waited for, a room whose furniture was removed but whose walls are still waiting to be recognized.
