The precise location of a medieval village or clustered settlement in the townland of Darragh More has not been identified. Possible settlement described c. 1698 as 'this town or village of Daragh is said to have been one of the Ancientest Towns of Ireland, & sd. to be one of the Seaven Cities thereof' (Jackson 1945, 146).
