Coolnatullagh holds fifteen to twenty irregular stone huts scattered across three hundred and sixty metres of high E-facing slope on Gortaclare Mountain. The walls mark dwellings so wide and uneven they defy simple measurement, suggesting people valued adaptability over perfection. They likely herded animals or tended the extensive field system below, moving between huts as seasons changed. The cluster still shows on satellite images, proving human hands shaped that remote mountain long before modern roads reached it.

On the high E-facing slopes of Gortaclare Mountain and within an extensive field system (CL006-042001-). 15-20 very irregular hut sites (diams. average c. 10m) defined by stone walls and spread over a wide area (360m E-W; 330m N-S).
