Seán Cannon

Seán Cannon was born in Claddagh, Galway, in 1940, a turbulent Atlantic town where music flows like water through narrow streets. He left for Coventry at fifteen, carrying that salt-air rhythm into English folk clubs and German ballrooms. The Claddagh did not disappear; it waited inside him, emerging later in Dublin stages and legendary songs. Birthplaces do not release people unchanged.
