Scoska Cave is a limestone cave formed through dissolution processes typical of karst landscapes. Human skeletal remains, a Neolithic flint scraper, and a Roman coin found nearby suggest intermittent use of the site from the Neolithic period through Roman times.
What is recorded here
human skeletal remains (presumed to e prehistoric) were recovered in 1905. A Neolithic flint scraper and a Roman coin c.AD 270 were recovered from the scree outside the cave.
