South Lodge stands beside Scone Palace in Perth and Kinross, a separate structure whose purpose and age remain unrecorded. It may have guarded the main entrance, housed keepers, or simply marked the boundary of a larger estate. Without a date or description, the lodge resists easy judgment. It still belongs to the palace estate, visible on the national record but closed to casual entry.
