North Lodge stands beside Scone Palace in Perth and Kinross, a small building caught in the shadow of a much larger estate. It may have served visitors, staff or horses, but that much is guesswork. What is clear is that it still exists, separate from the grand palace yet tied to it, marking the edge of a place that has been owned, worked and remembered for centuries.

Scone Palace, North Lodge is part of the historic Scone Palace estate, which was originally built by the Kings of Scots, with the earliest recorded structure dating to the 12th century. The site is important as it is associated with the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish monarchs.
