'savoch Castle'

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records 'savoch Castle' as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Savoch Castle was a medieval stronghold, likely built in the late 13th or early 14th century, during a period of frequent conflict in the Scottish borders. It is remembered for its strategic position and as part of the network of castles used to defend and control the region during the Wars of Scottish Independence.
